There are many reasons why one would choose to cut out on their own and become a solopreneur. Whether it be the fact that you want to create your own business, build your own brand, make more money, or be your own boss, there are many benefits to being a solopreneur. Personally, the ambition to create my own business felt natural to me and was something I always wanted to do.
That being said, you cannot remain a solopreneur forever, having multiple employees allows you to compete with larger companies. Some people have a problem delegating and feel the need to micromanage, but if you want to have a business that can stand on its own two feet you need to be employing the right people to perform the work. Also, as a solopreneur, it is impossible to take any time off for the holidays or go on vacation because when you leave, the business stops.
Looking back on my decision to become a solopreneur, I first thought having employees cost too much money but now I see that lack of production and failure to expand your business is what really costs money. So for me, expansion is the name of the game and having a footprint in the marketplace.
